Lexi's Babies are here!

A few hours after bailey had hers Lexi decided to have hers as well. She was in the nest when i found them, they werent coverd up real well so i got some fur from another doe to help out.

At this point there are four in the nest, although she may decide to have more. From my quick glance looks like a few brokens.

I will keep an eye out for the single and double manes.

Kindled December 22nd.

Dad is Chester.

Bailey Kindles!!!

Went out to the barn this morning to be greeted by a nest of baby bunnies!!

Looks like at least four babies, not really sure..I didnt want to count as it is biterly cold out here. I will get a count by the end of the day. The nest was coverd with a fair amount of fur so im happy! Good job Bailey, this is her second litter, first litter with me.

With her first litter she over cleaned the kits leaving them with some missing limbs....im really hoping this dose not happen this time!!

These babies will be partcially pedigree'd

Kindled December 22nd!

Pictures to follow in a week or so.

Father was Mojo.

Update - counted 5 kits, by my thinking there is no peanuts...everything looks good.

Mr.Mouse

Last week I went on the hunt for a nice male mouse to add some fresh bloodlines to my colony. Annette got her male from Pet Paradise, therefore i could not get one from there(we trade males every few months). So I went to Pets Mart.

There I saw Mr. Mouse sitting in the tank, i bought him there...a little expecive(almost $6).

He has not proven himself a good purchase, but we will see in the next few weeks.

Have a good day!

New Bunnies!!

I finally got my Blue eyed white Mini Rex buck yesterday!!!! He is a really really nice rabbit. I am planning on showing him next year. I had the oner to go to the rockton show with Annette, she was interested in a broken Castor and the owner was selling this fellow with the Bkn Castor and there was me "ill take the buck, ill take the buck!!". So Annette housed him for a while and sold him to me for $15 with breeding privllages to her as well. He is FULLY PEDIGREE'D!!

We've called him Balder Pig!

I also bought a little Blue Holland Lop doe from Annette. Shes partcailly pedigree'd. So far shes been a nice little doe. Very curious. She escaped on me last night, i had to search threw the whole barn and ended up finding her burried in the straw, little rascal! Her ears havnt quite loped over
yet, there on thier way though!
Havnt decided on a name for her yet.
Update - named her Rascaile

Breeding!

Well, i bred 2 and a half does today. My lionhead doe bred FANTASTICLY!! I put her in Chesters cage and her butt went right up! My HL doe bred good to, she let him breed her a few times. I left them to do there buisness and went up to the house, came back about an hour later to find the lionheads grooming each other and eating hay! And the holland was laying down eating hay.

Then i brought my mini rex doe over to Annette's to breed to "my" BEW buck. She wouldnt breed, wouldnt raise. So Annette's doing me a favor and keeping her for the weekend.

Well i was at Annette's i saw this really nice blue HL doe. Should i take her? hm.... i think i will.... we will have to see.

Anyway, ill try to blog more.

First litter of mice!!

So, i went up to the tank tonight to feed the mice and i thought something wasnt right. I was hearing tiny little sqeaking going on too. I really didnt know what it was and i noticed only one mouse was out waiting for the feed when usually they all are. So i opened up the nest box and saw two of my three does(the brown one and golden one) were hudled in the corner and i kinda expected they were giving birth. I didnt want to bother them so i fed them and left.

I went back up a little while ago to check and it turns out there ARE BABY MICE!!!! I only saw one - three but i only wanted to take a quick glance. Not sure which one is the mother at this point, either the brown doe or the golden doe.

So in short... first litter of mice born late November 15th UPDATE: Mice have all been born, November 15th - November 17th.

Rockton Show!

Annette from At Home Pets asked if i wanted to tag along with her to the rockton show. I took the offer and went up to rockton yesterday!

It was a really fun experiece, we learned some new things, like how to hold a show rabbit(mini rex), and how to pose a holland, i also learned that there are only six recoized colours in the polish, and there is only a few harlequin breeders in Ontario(CONGRATS to annette for becoming on!).

I have a little more breeding to do down the line before i get to show anything....

I knew i was going for 2 hollands but ended coming home with three rabbits. Annette was interested in a broken castor mini rex doe but you had to buy it in a pair with a BEW mini rex buck. I immediatly said that I would take the buck and after alot of convincing she got the pair. Now he's at her place for now as we are sharing him.... i LOVE this buck, he is really nice.

Yeterday was the best experience i had in a long time, it was REALLY fun, thanks Annette!

I GOT MICE!!!

YESSS!!!! Finally i got my mice, i coudlnt wait!! I am just starting with three prego females from At Home Pets. They seem to be pretty nice little mice. There due in a few weeks. Ill keep you posted, but email me if you want a mouse!

Fiesta Kindled!!

Wow, i did not ecxpect this doe to kindle!! This whole time i thought she wasnt bred and she ended up having 5!!!! One sable point and the rest were frosted pearls, she threw a really nice mixter of males and femals and proved to be an exellent momma!!

Dusty Kindled!

Dusty had her babies last night, on september 20th! There were five littles in the nest, 2 broken blacks, one black vienna, one chocolate vienna, one blue vienna. All exept the blue vienna made it to selling age.
